Domestic Restricions

A gathering limit of 200 people is in place in Iceland as well as a general one-metre social distancing rule between people who do not have a close relationship. Mask use is mandatory where distancing of one metre cannot be ensured, such as on public transport, in shops and in services such as healthcare, domestic flights and ferries, in salons and massage parlours and other similar activities. Face masks must be worn at seated gatherings such as religious services and performing arts events.

Limits to the numbers of children, social distancing and mask regulations do not apply to children born 2016 or later. The obligation to wear a mask does not apply to children born 2006 or later.
